About PCJ Books

Petit Cheval Jaune (Little Yellow Horse) was founded to share joyful, inclusive, and beautifully illustrated stories with young readers and families. Inspired by Leo, a golden palomino gelding who loves teatime, PCJ Books celebrates friendship, sharing, and harmony with nature.

As an independent publisher, PCJ creates stories children want to hear again and again—books that bring warmth and meaning to family storytime. Guided by imagination, kindness, and joy, the first release Tea Time for Leo arrives in November 2025, followed by more adventures with Leo, spirited little Lucy, and the curious Daisy Doodle Wildflower Wetfoot.

About Elisabeth Black Vestal

Elisabeth Black Vestal is the founder of Petit Cheval Jaune and the author of Tea Time for Leo. With a background in design, storytelling, and a lifelong love of horses, Elisabeth brings creativity and warmth to each book she creates. Her inspiration comes from her own horse, Leo, a Palomino gelding whose charm and personality have captured the hearts of everyone who meets him. Elisabeth’s stories are rooted in the joy of everyday connections — teatime under a leafy tree, laughter with friends, and the magic of kindness.

Beyond writing, Elisabeth is building PCJ Books as a home for stories that reflect her values: inclusivity, friendship, and harmony with the natural world. She envisions a growing library of children’s titles that bring families closer together and leave young readers feeling happy, inspired, and loved.
